Blog: Privacy
I think the main issue of privacy and confidentiality related to the new media is the account information. What I mean about the account information was include gender, religion, financial status, location, personal favors, and others. I understand that most of the companies were trying to have this information and create their own big data in order to analyze their users and customers and then to make better services. However, these data were private and confidentially. Once these data revealed to some insecure companies and used in a bad way. That will be a disaster. Also, allowing some websites and apps to access your location data is actually not a good idea. For example, there was a YouTuber record a video about testing the google website's advertisement pushups. Even though the YouTuber didn't search anything about one item, but once he mentioned that item in front of his computer, the google page's advertisements were refreshed to pushups ads about what he spoke in front of the computer before.
One tip for people who use Instagram, I know there were some people who like to tag the place while they post up something to Instagram. It's okay to do that to share a good restaurant or a nice view with your friends. But remember do this after you leave this place. Because not just your friends can see your posts. So preventing some bad guys know where you are at that moment, please don't share your location or share it after you leave.
