Blog: Social networking sites
Right now, there are so many social media platforms surrounding us. And we are not just using one of them. In my own opinion, I have different impressions of four social networking sites.
Facebook
Facebook is my first social networking site that I started to use after I came to America. It helped me get involved in this strange and new zone faster. And helped me know more new friends. At that time, I kept posting about my daily life and pictures, although it was a black history to me now. But I'm glad to have this platform to save my memory which I can take a look at all the good and bad times I had back then. Although I used Messenger more instated of Facebook itself, and one of the reasons is lots of my friends were moving to other networking sites. However, I really like the market option that Facebook released and the private group. Facebook Market did help me sale to sell some secondhand stuff. And the group sessions helped me know more people that have the same interests but lived in different areas or even countries.
Twitter
Twitter is a good networking site for me to read segment posts instead of the long paragraphs or essay posts. Also, I can read the news right away through government accounts or news accounts. And because of the word limits of Twitter, one of the good things is that the news or posts I read are more precise and easy-understanding. So I can get the main point easier. However, one thing I don't really like is that Twitter can only post four photos the most. As the type of person who likes to post lots of photos, this is not the right site for me to use.
Instagram
Right now, seems like everyone has an Instagram account. I have one too. For me, Instagram is more like a digital photo album and I can record anything I like. For instance, I posting food photos when I found a great restaurant, pets photos when I hang out with my friends in a cat cafe, selfies with friends or myself when I was very happy of the day, and many different photos. Also, it's good that Instagram can "tag" or "mention" a place or someone, which other people can see your review about this place or restaurant, or letting your friends know that you had posted some memories with them.
Pixiv
I'm not sure is Pixiv popular in America or not, but I really like to use Pixiv to view my favorite artist's artwork and other artworks that related to my favorite topics. Instead of Tumblr, I like this more compare to the simple site design and clear album of artists' works. Also, I can leave comments for the artworks I like, one I can communicate with the artist, second I can share my thoughts with other people who also like the artwork.
